  1. Watch your back if you get involved with Tampa Bay Inferno. Coach Givens will lie and use you and your child to make his empire. Take some advise, as he says, "There is the door", run as fast as you can through that door and find another team. The last thing TBI is about is the kids, its about power, control, and money of a sick individual.

  2. Thank you for you for your feedback. I agree that TBI is not for every kid or family. We build character and focus on player development. Our coaching style is very direct but we have a proven track record of success. The reality is that most players do not want to push themselves to improve themselves as human beings and as players. Our organization does not want kids that do not have the heart and desire to be GREAT. In addition, we are looking for families and parents that will support their daughters in this process. As far as the cost, I invite you read the article on our main website title "The True Cost of AAU Basketball". Yes, we are more expensive than other organizations but we offer lots more. Our program runs year round focusing on the fundamentals, compete in more tournaments, qualify and attend national tournaments, attend exposure tournaments and individual showcases. Exposure tournaments and showcases pay a key part in the college recruiting process. We also include lodging at at resort style villas and provide parental supervision 100% of the time while traveling. Yes, we are more expensive but our fees are all up front and not hidden like other organizations. To your statement about Coach Givens building an empire: please understand that his daughter is already playing college basketball. He has a passion for coaching youth basketball and seeing his teams and players succeed.

Please call us directly so we can address your concerns directly and instead of hiding behind a computer key board and replying with an anonymous profile name. We hope to here from you soon.

  3. Boy, harsh words from someone who obviously had a bad experience. But I agree with the reply.....TBI is NOT for every child, (or every parent).
Coach Givens is hard....very hard at times & not every child or parent can handle that. But do you think winning coaches aren't hard??? Think again. There isn't a winning coach around that isn't a tough coach, that's why they win! And Coach Givens wins!
TBI plays in AAU & YBOA tournaments & those tournaments are about winning!!! It takes alot of hard work to win & not every child wants to work that hard so yes...."there's the door". That is why there are rec basketball teams, for those who can't handle the pressure or aren't good enough for the high level of competition.
As far as the cost, it is very expensive to play any kind of travel sport. I know of a travel volleyball team that costs $1600 for a shorter season & parents still have to pay lodging for their child.
That's another reason you should make sure your child can handle the pressure of high level competition....it's not rec ball where everyone gets same amount of minutes. If your child is good enough, they will get to play.
So, for anyone reading this, if your child really wants to play comepetitve basketball , then you need to meet Coach Givens, attend some of his trainings & then decide for yourself!
